Are Google Search results not according to your wishes ?

Recently in Google Chrome Forums many users asked about Google search results changed after they migrated to another country or are not refined by their countries. There can be many reasons behind this. Major one is when you download Google Chrome, its default search engine is already set as your country.
Here is the setting which you should apply if you want the refined searches. This is for Google.com refined search :

  1. First you will need to go "wrench icon" icon located at the upper right corner of the browser, then go to Options.
  2. Click on Manage under Default Search, click on Add...
  3. A menu will appear asking Name, Keyword and URL. Fill those as following :
Name      : Google          [This can be edited]
Keyword : Google.com [This can be edited]
URL         : http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&source=hp&q=%s

 4.  Click OK, and then Make Default. Click Close a few times.

As you see above, If you want results from another country. For example- if you want results from UK, then replace http://www.google.com to http://www.google.co.uk from URL as given above, similarly if you want  results from Brazil, then replace http://www.google.com by http://www.google.com.br
If you don't want all these settings then you can simply type google.com/ncr in your omnibox and search for your term there.

Note: All above settings were introduced by taking version 7.0.517 as idol. Steps may change with versions.

  4. Man, U saved my life (lol). I was stuck with it. But I think things shouldn't be this way. I mean, it should be fixed as long as I set my Chrome default search engine, isn't it?
Anyway, I think it is a minor issue compared with the entire Chrome!
    I'm using version 13.0.782.112. Tks ;)

  5. I have this problem too. Weeks ago I went to Canada for ten days and ever since then, searching from the address box always returns google.ca not co.uk, even though I've followed every suggestions, instruction etc. It's really REALLY annoying.
